When designing AirPrint, Apple made it extremely easy for users to set up and print. But if you have a Macbook, then you can retain the ease of portability while retaining the stability and reliability of Printopia. Using a Mac obviously limits portability for events, as most would not want to transport a Mac workstation and a screen along with their photo booth.
Printopia for pc install#
Simply connect your printer to a Mac workstation, install Printopia and follow their setup instructions, and you're away. If you only use your photo booth in-office, and your workstations are Macs, this a great print server alternative. Printopia requires macOS, so you can only use it if you have a Mac or Macbook. Printopia costs $20 for the basic version, has multiple features, and allows you to share up to 5 physical printers. It is very well supported, making it easy to install and setup, and extremely reliable.
Printopia for pc Activator#
Printopia is an AirPrint activator software just like OPrint, but is Mac compatible only. And with continual Windows updates by Microsoft, this has caused our initial print server setup to become increasingly unreliable.īelow are some alternative print server options you may implement. Unfortunately, it is not updated very often. OPrint is the only AirPrint activator available for Windows.
Printopia for pc Pc#
The setup we initally offered as a print server involved a Windows based PC with a built-in touch screen running a software called OPrint. This creates the need for a print server: a device that can allow a commercial grade, non-AirPrint printer to communicate with an iOS device wirelessly. And others such as the Canon Selphy only allow a few prints per ink cartridge, making it rather expensive. Those printers with AirPrint incorporated are usually office-grade printers, not fast enough for the purposes of a photo booth. Unfortunately, there have been no commercial grade dye-sub printers produced with AirPrint.
